Bison Strength Equipment, (now a name inherited from the former Bison Strength Equipment, LLC) was started by Vasiliy Fomichev in January of 2010. The idea was initiated by his brother, Dmitriy Fomichev, who lives in Russia and was visiting a few weeks prior to the business organization. Dmitriy is a coach to multiple Champions of Russia in Russian hand-to-hand fighting, kickboxing, and Brazilian and Japanese jiu-jitsu. During the visit he brought with him Bison-1 exerciser, which effectiveness impressed him so much he wanted to show it to Vasiliy. After just a couple of workouts with Bison-1, Vasiliy (former 2nd place in Russia in kickboxing and Russian hand-to-hand fighting, 2000 and 2001, before moving to the United States, now a professional web developer) recognized the potential of the exerciser and being shocked that it has not reached the US market yet in full capacity, decided to partner with his brother, contract with Sotsky Exercisers (the manufacturer of Bison-1) and begin importing the exerciser to the United States. Vasiliy is now managing Bison Strength Equipment, based out of Los Angeles, CA and is the main contact in the States, while Dmitriy is taking care of the supply chain management. Bison-1 has been used by professional athletes and regular people like you and I for years, and has finally found its way to the highly diverse US market.
